Our Mission: |
Academy for Cancer Wellness, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization established in 1995 by Alice F. Chang, along with John J. Welker and his wife, the late Gertrude Welker. Its purpose is to provide support for cancer wellness—for champions, as well as for their families and friends.
The academy’s mission is to spread awareness of the many people who have faced the challenge of cancer and emerged triumphant; to provide a means for cancer champions to rally amongst themselves for mutual strength and support; to provide funding for research toward the promotion of cancer wellness; and to provide modest financial support for the working poor and under-insured cancer patients.

The ACW Endowment Fund was setup in 2003 through the generous donations made by friends of Katherine Kitzman.
The purpose of this fund is to provide assistance and support to the working poor and under-insured cancer patients. Candidates are referred by various doctors to ACW's services. |

When individuals are diagnosed with cancer, the amount of available information can be overwhelming. As patients and their families call, ACW's staff provides information and references, allowing patients to focus on their options and resources. |

W2W invites you to be part of a collaboration.
 The Women to Women Psychologists Group “W2W” (Dorothy Cantor, Carol Goodheart, Sandra Haber, Ellen McGrath, Alice Rubenstein, Lenore Walker, Karen Zager) is experimenting with using the computer to create a collaborative experience. This is an example of what a group of women can do when we do it together.
Women use computers to connect with each other and find ways to improve their lives and help their families.
